I hate to wait!  Whether we're talking about waiting for the doctor, a bus or lunch to arrive.  I'm a product of the culture in which I'm immersed.  I want it now!  As we put our home up for sale I find myself wanting it sold now!  I don't want to wait!  As we get ready for Ireland I want to begin. Yet I'm going to have to wait, if not for this, something.  Are you waiting for anything?

Waiting can seem like such a waste of time.  Yet in God's word we're called to wait.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord!" Psalm 27:14  or "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my trust." Psalm 130:5

I've been thinking about all this.  Maybe waiting is NOT the waste of time we think it to be.  Maybe, just maybe, in our waiting we discover the very presence of God?

Let's wait in trusting joy.
Let's place our lives in HIS hands, and discover our anxiety replaced with peace, HIS peace.

  1. I agree! Waiting is hard and yet in the waiting I think we are able to experience the peace of God like in no other time. Think about how much time the people of God spent waiting...

  2. Oh, gosh. I needed that! Definitely in wait mode at the moment...and boy is it taxing me at times! Thanks for the encouragement!
